Trip to the Children's Museum

I went to the coolest place ever last weekend...the Children's Museum! Wow, there were so many things to look at and play with. This big mirror ball was a favorite of mine. No matter where I looked, there I was! Then Dad and I played with a life-size connect-four game. I concentrated so hard on getting the ring into the top. The best part was definitely letting them all loose at the bottom though.

I got to ride the carousel for the first time with Mom. We picked the giraffe, and boy, did I love the music! Then we went to play with the huge sandbox. I got really good at pouring sand into the funnel toys. Of course, I threw a bit out of the box too, just to see what Mom would do. She was pretty cool with it.
And then the best part of the entire day...playing in the water! I stood on my tiptoes the entire time and played, played, played, until we had to go. There were boats, fish, and even balls (my absolute favorite) to play with in the water. Mom told Dad he should make a water playland in the backyard. I second that.

This is Lourdes, the dinosaur, and me, the egg. We're in a big dinosaur nest. I'm so glad she came to visit me all the way from Pennsylvania. My parents sure did enjoy seeing her parents too. We ended up spending almost 6 hours there...and we loved every minute. Both of us fell asleep in the car (I didn't even make it out of the parking garage). What a great day.

My First Time at the State Fair

Since I'm one now, I can eat super delicious food like elephant ears! Dad let me taste a bite, and it was awesome. Then he let me have a sip of his lemonade shake-up. What a great day! It was a hot morning at the fair, but I loved every minute. We saw all the animals. I even got to pet a little cow. If this is what being one means, I'm all for staying one forever.

Just a few days later, I got to go the Children's Museum! Stay tuned for my pictures...

Happy First Birthday Emerson!!!

Definitely liked the cake! And I didn't have a problem sharing...
Mom and Dad put my little armchair outside and a few friends and family brought presents! They weren't supposed to, because I really just wanted to hang out with them, but I did love every one! Unwrapping them is half the fun!

I'm so glad my friend, Sophie, came to play with me. I'm a little jealous that she can walk already though. Mom says I will really soon!Check out these cool fruit skewers. Mom let me take a piece of cantaloupe off of one before the party started. There was all kinds of fun foods at the party...but nothing as exciting as the cake. This is my Grillmeister, Mr. Vance. Since I was busy eating cake and opening presents, he said he'd do the grilling for me. That was really nice of him. Maybe one day I can grill for one of his parties.Grandpa and I hanging out at the party. I'm so glad a lot of my family got to come.

These are my friends Bryce and Micah playing with my grill. Below you'll see me helping my mom and dad get ready for the big party. Mom and I did some landscaping in the backyard, and Dad and I washed the windows before my big day. What a great birthday!!!

A Busy Summer

Sorry it's been a while since I wrote. It's been such a busy summer! Here are a few highlights of July...Mom and I went to visit Jody in Missouri for a couple of days. It was a long drive...8 hours!...but I did such a good job. Once we were there, we had so much fun. My parents' small group from church went to Symphony on the Prairie together one night. Ryker and I had a good time playing on the blankets and trying to get to the food before our parents could stop us.
I graduated to my new "big boy" cow-mooflauge car seat. Can you tell my mom picked it out?
I got to visit Mimi on her birthday. We had a great time together...she especially loves my slobbery kisses.
Check out the new hairdo! It's getting so long, but mom and dad won't cut it yet. When I play real hard and get sweaty, it's really easy to spike it up.
I know you've already seen me get in the pantry, but don't I look old in this picture? I'm standing and walking with my walker so easily...it is so much more fun than just crawling. I keep my mom moving everyday!
Man, do I love when mom bakes!
I went to see Grandma at her new house. I just had to go show Dad the big goldfish in her pond!
Here's my good friend Cal. I got to see him and his parents at Noodles and Company. We're trying to give each other a high five here. That's a lot harder than it looks.
