Two Weeks Old

Emerson is doing very well...sleeping through the night in 4 hour chunks and weighing in at a hefty 10lbs 7oz as of yesterday. So, he's gained one pound since leaving the hospital. He is such a joy. This is one of mom's favorite pictures of me. Everybody has a wrinkly back like mine, right? My head fits perfectly in mom's hand. These are mom's best friends that came in to see me. Sara (left) came from Atlanta, Jody (middle) came from Missouri, and Heather (right) lives nice and close in Greenwood. Mom loved their visit.

Aren't I precious in my carseat?
My first bath...thank goodness for my thumb to keep me calm. My big brother Brutus came home to live with us a few days after I got home. He's doing an amazing job keeping me safe. He certainly sniffs me a lot.
This is me staring at Sara. Mom's got pretty friends...and I love when they hold me.
Four generations: Emerson, Lauren, Grammy, and Great Grandma. What a joy it was to have them come visit from Cincinnati.Four generations: Emerson, Lauren, Grandpa, and Great Grandma (Mimi). I can't wait to see her again soon.

First Few Days

I just love being held by my daddy. He loves staring at me all the time.Today I showed mom my tongue. Pretty cute, huh?I met Uncle Nick today! He brought me a balloon and a huge smile. He actually called me "Big Baby" and nicknamed me "Merson." My great Aunt Sally really loved holding me and brought me my first football too.My daddy's been talking about this place called "Starbucks" and my grandparents brought him a mocha today. They brought me my first little Starbucks too!My parents seem to have such wonderful friends! This is Mike and Heather with their little girl, Sophie. She's only 8 weeks older than me...I can't wait to play with her soon. This is Stacie, my mom's friend. She is hilarious and I couldn't stop staring at her. Then, since she seemed funny, I decided to pee on her too and see what happened. She laughed...I'll have to remember that. My parents call me a rooter and a tooter. I'm still not sure why.
My parents struggled to put my first outfit on. Apparently it was already too small. Anyways, I think I look pretty cute. After 4 nights in the hospital, I got to go see my new home. The car ride was super fun, although I slept through most of it. Here's a picture of my dad carrying me and helping my mom to the front door of the house. They were so excited to be home.
Ahh, I loved my first night at home. Here's a picture of my pajamas. Much better than the hospital gowns. I didn't exactly sleep through the night, but my parents think tonight will be much smoother. (Between you and me, I'm not sure they knew what they were doing last night)

Emerson Zachariah Spillman

Well, quite the exciting day. I thank God for His love and for His people who prayed for us during the day. We all needed it. It has been an awesome experience, and I can't wait to see what God's plan is for my life and my parent's. The top picture was taken at about 1:18 pm. The middle is me in my state of contentment. The world finally gets to see me and my 10 pounds and 2 ounces and 20 inches. The last picture shows three generations...my grandparents (Dave and Pam (l) - mom's side; and John and Lisa (center) - dad's side), my dad (he is so proud), and me in my mom's arms (she is so wonderful). Don't forget to continue praying for me, and my parents (I have some surprises in store for them).

Bellies and Cakes

A few more belly pictures for you...The first one in the zebra dress was taken on Saturday, July 26th before a dinner downtown with Brinks. The second one shows off the beautiful flowers and card that Daniel got me before a surprise date on Friday, August 1st. He took me to Bravo's, where we had our first date, and then let me pick the movie. He said Mama Mia reminded him of Batman...what a trooper:)
I'm still enjoying cake decorating. Here are a few double-decker firecracker cupcakes and a birthday cake for Mimi, my grandma.
